鏡音レン for CMN
（゜д゜ 三 ゜д゜） How do I start writing up this thing..?! Er, Let’s see.. after some months I finally got some real free time recently so I went out and finished the Kagamine Len shell for CMN Ver ACT2, now this one is able for download, I was going to put the other one for download but er, some things happened OTL.. in any case!
Preview:
BEFORE EVERYTHING:
A. So you can make SSP run; you firstly need to get your PC’s configuration set to Japanese so unicode programs can be executed, (if it had happened before that you have tried FLELE and there’s no sound coming out that’s the cause ＾＾; ) at the Control Panel → Regional/Language Options → Advanced Options set it to Japanese and then restart the PC.
-If you can’t find the Japanese option on the list, you’ll have to install it, you could:
a. Take the Windows CD your PC was installed with, then try THIS
b. Look for the Japanese IME package at the Microsoft website (You’ll need to have Office XP installed though, I haven’t tried this option for a GOOD while so I’m not sure how this one will work out…（＞＜）)
B. Try installing applocale, it is a temporary solution for programs like this, the microsoft website has about most of the information you need to know about applocale so I suggest to read the article (: Downloads for applocale are located over here.
First time installing SSP
(If you’re going to install FLELE too then jump this part and go to the Installing FLELE one↓) First, go to the website:
2. Click the big pink button that says ダウンロード
3. Install it, you might want to put a name folder too :X
4. Once you’re done and click the SSP.exe the program will open and Emily (the SSP mascot) will appear:
5. If you right-click Emily, there appears a menu, you can easily change it to english in the “Language” part
Installing FLELE
A. FLELE’s site added Miku’s shell along with the whole SSP program so you can just download Miku to install SSP along with her on her page
B. If you downloaded SSP already you just have to open the Miku zip and extract the flele_aya folder (under the ghost folder) from the zip to the SSP → ghost folder
If you have done it correctly then there should be two folders under the ghost folder one called emily4 and one called flele_aya
Open SSP once again, right-click Emily and go to the “Change Ghost” option, then select “FLELE” and the FLELE ghost will appear,
To make FLELE work you just have to drag whichever mp3 you want, a menu will appear and just click the PLAY option~ I’ll explain some more options about FLELE later on, now for the part most of people is curious about xD;;
Installing CMN
Go to the website:
1. Over here at the GHOST page , go the CMN page
2. Scroll down a little the page until you find a link that says cmn.nar (1.75MB), download it into your SSP folder.
3. Now open the SSP once again, drag the cmn.nar file to your ghost -whichever FLELE or emily- there should appear a text that says “waiting…” and then “Installation complete”, this way you’ll get the CMN ghost installed into your SSP, now if you right click, in the menu where it says “Change Ghost” the “CMN” option will be there, click it.
4. When you click the CMN Change Ghost option by the first time the program will ask you if you want the default girl or boy (First option is for the Girl and the second Option is for the Boy), and there you go, CMN installed!
Installing Len
1. Open the zip, you’ll see a folder named レン_for_CMN
2. Drag it to SSP → ghost → CMN → shell
3. If you have done it correctly then there should be now 3 folders there, one named byakudan, master and レン_for_CMN
4. Open the SSP again
5. Right-click the ghost for the menu (change to the CMN ghost if you’re not there)
6. Go to Shell Option and then click “レン_for_CMN”
7. Oh hey, hello Len
Now yeah.. if you made everything trough here then congratulations now you can poke Len or whatever you want XD; the poor guy… J-just don’t abuse him （；Δ；）, Oh yeah I got to modify some little things of the code and so, I made him a little tsundere… just a little （＞▽＜ ） CMN can also react to the mouse’s move so you can pretty much move around the mouse on his head and he will feel it （。・ω・。 ）
For people who can understand a little japanese or can write it up a little… He might ask for a name first, if he doesn’t then you can double-click his equalizer to go to the menu:
First option is for talking with him, second option I’m not entirely sure about this one yet OTL, third option is the Option Menu for the CMN, fourth option is the menu for the music. Go to the third option wich is the CMN menu:
Yeah there’s a lot of stuff to begin with xD;, most of the options -the first ones- are for the text balloons and activate sound whenever he talks to you, the selected part of the screenshot is the option for chaning his name, if you select it he will ask you if you want to give him a name, click the first option and then Input the name. Down there, there’s the option to select how do you want him to talk [girl oriented or boy oriented] right now he has a ‘neutral’ way to talk, then there’s how do you want him to refer in first person, then second person. and down there, there’s how do you want him to call you, so yeah.. you can add your name, nickname, Master or whatever you want.
If you want to talk with him then go to the menu again double-clicking the equalizer, and select the first option, a little balloon for communicate will appear, you can write up some things there (I just can write up simple stuff xD;) so hey, why not start with a 初めまして?

Len also works for FLELE
Even though, you can drag mp3 to the CMN’s shell, it will play them but there’s no singing animation, to tell the truth; when I was trying to read the original readme.txt there was a part that said that there’s an option to enable the singing animation with CMN but I haven’t been able to find that option yet （ ノд`）.. so instead of that I usually do this:
1. Copy the レン_for_CMN folder
2. Return to your SSP folder
3. Go to ghost → flele_aya → shell and paste there レン_for_CMN
4. Once again open SSP, right-click for the menu and Change ghost to FLELE
5. Now right-click the ghost and in the shell part, there’s going to be レン for CMN as a shell for FLELE, click it.
6. Drag whichever mp3 and that’s it~ he will start the simple singing animation
Some simple stuff and keyboard shortcuts:
R → Play
S → Stop
M → Menu
W → Song name window
C → Clear songs
E → Exit
How to see your songs list:
right-click Len’s equalizer and this little window should appear it has the playlist of the songs you have dragged to the ghost:
So by the meantime that’s it, there’s some stuff at the Clothes/Dressup menu too so.. （ ´▽`）ノ Hope you all will enjoy it, since the codes are not mine I wasn’t able to add more stuff since I’m not entirely sure how the surfaces.txt code works, sorry （＞＜）ノ and and and be sure to give a los of webclaps to http://kenoglasses.nobody.jp at the 拍手 option, awesome stuff is quite awesome （ノ；▽；）ノ I just hope I didn’t make anything wrong with modifying an existing shell this way OTL

Well, the dialogs of the CMN are always going to be in japanese *I think that’s what you’re refering to xD;*, the only thing that changes to english is the main menu ^^;

First of all, I want to let you know that this is the most awesome thing ever. :D
But I can’t get him to show up. D: I set it so that he’s a shell for both CMN and Flele, and he’s in the menu, but when I click on レン for CMN, my Flele just disappears. The program doesn’t close, but there’s no shell. D: I seem to have all the files and such, so it should work the way it’s supposed to…
I came across someone on DA who said they had this same problem and fixed it by maxing out the size of the Flele to 300% and finding a tiny bit of Len sticking out on the edge of the screen, but I’ve had no luck with that. Do you have any idea what’s going on? .__.

It has never happened to me so I’m afraid I might not have any idea at all why it might do that huuummm, have you used flele before and it just happens with this shell?
You could also try to install once again the whole SSP at another folder from 0 if you have an older version O:

I just downloaded flele four days or so ago, so I think I’ve got the newest version. And I kinda went crazy with the shell downloads, so I know how to do that. xD;;
But thanks anyway, I’ll play around with it and see if I can figure it out. n___n
What’s your screen resolution? Just in case it’s doing the off-screen thing. But I have a pretty big screen (1440 x 900), so I don’t think that’s it. =| Hmm…

Hello—!,
Are you trying to use the shell for CMN or FLELE?
for FLELE it should be exported on:
SSP\ghost\flele_aya\shell
If you want to use the flele shell you might want to go to “Change Ghost” on the menu to CMN and then look around the shells of that one, I hope that’s the problem over there ^^;

Hi, I absolutly love this shell!!! Len is my favourite Vocaloid! I have a problem though… When I change the ghost to CMN, there is only the shells that were installed with the file. I’ve tried adding Len’s shell every possible way I can! (I think…) Nothing is working. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi there! I tried adding the len shell and the Kaito shell but only the word bubbles come up but I can’t see the character. I tried to scale them up to a bigger size but it didn’t work. I tried double clicking the toolbar icon to see if they were just hiding but that doesn’t work either. I matched my files to be the same order as the screen shot that was provided, that also didn’t work. I even tried just randomly moving around some of the files to see if it would change anything. And they don’t work as my Flele shells either. Please, I need lots of help before I go insane! :(

Adorable shell, you’ve done an amazing job! (the same applies for the Act.I shell, but I never got a chance to grab that one orz) Clapped to the maximum, for sure~!
(RANTING PREFACE: none of this happened because of the Len shell or your code, no worries!)
…it’s just too bad that CMN doesn’t seem to like the fact that I use AppLocale for everything: It installs fine, Len extracts fine, but as soon as I start changing options, I get SHIORI errors of the sort that SSP is very vocal about. lllorz I even tried installing the supplement data, but that just got me errors of a different kind and really didn’t solve anything. Oddly enough, CMN is the -only- ghost that’s giving me such grief, out of the twenty or so other ones I’ve got kicking around.
I felt bad uninstalling poor Len so many times… ah, forgive me~! m(__)m (maybe i’ll try him on Flele)

Hey, so I installed the FLELE files and everything, and miku shows up, but when I try to drag the files for an mp3 or the cmn.nar, nothing happens. Its like it doesn’t even react to them. Am I doing something wrong?
